The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has berated the Federal Government for failing to prioritize education in Nigeria.
ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, stated that the issues bedeviling the sector will not end until the elite are forced to train their children in public schools.
Osodeke dismissed the two-week ultimatum issued to the Minister of Education by President Muhammadu Buhari, to end the strike, noting that ASUU had concluded negotiations with the government and was only waiting for the ministers to sign the agreement reached.
The President noted that lecturers were ready to return to the classrooms as long as the government fulfils its part of the bargain.
