NBA urges new acting Chief Justice to reform Judiciary

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Olumide Akpata, has called on the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Olukayode Ariwoola, to reform the Nation’s Judiciary.

Akpata made the call in a statement issued on Monday.

The statement urged Justice Ariwoola to make judicial reform and the restoration of public confidence in the Judiciary his first task upon assuming office.

Buhari swears-in new acting Chief Justice of Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn-in Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN. Buhari administered the oath of office to Justice Ariwoola during a swearing-in ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The new acting Chief Justice is expected to serve in acting capacity pending confirmation by the National Judicial Council. Ariwoola’s appointment followed the resignation of former CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad.
