INEC To Comply With Court Order On Voters’ Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it will comply with the ruling of a Federal High Court in Abuja on the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR.

INEC’s Commissioner of Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, noted that the Court asked the Commission to return on June 29 to explain its position.

Recall that the Court had stopped INEC from its decision to end the CVR exercise on June 30.

Senate Announces New Minority Leader

The Senate has named the member representing FCT Senatorial District, Philip Aduda as its new Minority Leader. Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, made the announcement during plenary on Tuesday. Lawan also announced Chukwuka Utazi, representing Enugu North Senatorial District as the Senate Minority Whip. Recall that the seat of the Minority Leader became vacant following the defection of Enyinnaya Abaribe from the People’s Democratic Party.
