Northern Governors of the All Progressives Congress have forwarded names of five southern aspirants to President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration as a consensus candidate.
Chairman of the Northern Governors Simon Lalong, who confirmed the list, revealed that those whose names were submitted had been graded by the party screening committee.
Lalong, noted that the shortlist will not bar other aspirants from contesting the primaries.
Those shortlisted are the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu; Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi; and Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Anambra State Police Command has neutralized a kidnap kingpin and arrested some members of the gang in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.
