Anambra State Police Command has neutralized a kidnap kingpin and arrested some members of the gang in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, who disclosed this, said the operation was based on the arrest of one of the gang members.
According to Ikenga, the suspects are in custody undergoing interrogation with a view to extract more information on their involvement in previous crimes.
Dominican Republic's minister of environment and natural resources, Orlando Mera, been shot dead in his office by a close friend. Officials say Mera was holding a meeting at the time of the attack. A presidential spokesman identified the assailant as Miguel Cruz, he is now in custody, and the motive for the shooting remains unclear. The late Minister had served in incumbent President Luis Abinader's administration since July 2020.
