Emefiele Files Suit Against INEC

The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele has filed a suit against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The suit instituted by his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, has been fixed for hearing today by the presiding Judge, Ahmed Mohammed.

The suit seeks enforcement of his right to contest the 2023 Presidential election without resigning from his current position.

ASUU Extends Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has extended its ongoing strike for another 12 weeks. A statement signed by ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke disclosed that the roll-over strike takes effect from May 9, 2021. The statement noted that this was to give the government enough time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues.
