Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has tested positive for COVID-19. Cabinet Secretary for Public Affairs at the Prime Minister’s office, Noriyuki Shikata, revealed that Kishida is isolating after developing a mild fever and cough. The Prime Minister was scheduled to return to work on Monday after spending the last week on vacation.

At least 14 civilians have been killed and dozens of others wounded when a rocket attack hit the town of al-Bab in northern Syria. A Shanghai Court has sentenced Chinese-Canadian Billionaire Xiao Jianhua to 13 years in prison. According to the Shanghai First Intermediate Court, Xiao and his Tomorrow Holdings were charged with illegally absorbing public deposits, betraying the use of entrusted property, and the illegal use of funds and bribery. The Court, however, fined Xiao $954,655 for the crimes.

Flooding in Sudan has killed scores of people and destroyed an estimated 14,500 homes as seasonal rains pound the country. At least three Syrian Soldiers have been killed and six wounded in a Turkish air raid. The Syrian armed forces who disclosed this revealed that the attack caused material and human losses in some Turkish army positions.
