Star Wars Aircraft Designer Dies at 90

The Artist who designed many of the spacecraft in the Star Wars films, Colin Cantwell, has died at the age of 90. Cantwell's first credit came on Stanley Kubrick's sci-fi movie ‘A Space Odyssey’. Star Wars creator, George Lucas asked him to design and make prototypes for the Death Star, X-Wing, TIE fighter and Imperial Star Destroyer.

Nigerian Paper Mills Collapses

National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has said Nigerian paper mills have collapsed years after privatization. According to BNS, Nigeria imported paper and its allied products worth N296.696billion between July and December 2021. While paper valued at N188.137billion was imported in the third quarter of 2021, import in the last quarter of the year was estimated at N108.559billion.

Niegeria’s Electricity Supply Crashes

Nigeria’s electricity supply crashed following a significant downturn in power generated by the Nigerian generating companies. According to the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, a total of 86,450.66MWh of energy was supplied on Sunday. Nigeria’s Power Supply Drops

Nigeria’s power supply dropped for the third consecutive day on Monday starting the week with a total supply of 83,723.87MWh. This represents the lowest power supply since 10th April 2022, while the grid was still recovering from the disruption. Similarly, the total energy generated also dipped to 84,764.67MWh on Monday, which is 3.19% lower than the 87,553.76MWh recorded the previous day.
