Commonwealth Games 100m hurdles champion; Tobi Amusan faces another hurdle at the Wanda Diamond League Final beginning in Switzerland. Amusan is heading for an encore performance when she takes on reigning Olympic Champion, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn and world silver medalist, Brittany Anderson. She will be defending her Diamond League title which she won in Zurich after her world record and world title win in Oregon.

French side Marseille has signed Manchester United center-back Eric Bailly on loan. The deal will see Marseille cover his wages, and it includes a 6m euros obligation to buy, subject to appearances. Bailly joined United for £30m from Villarreal in 2016 but struggled to hold down a first-team place.  

British number six Liam Broady renewed his bid to reach the US Open main draw with a comeback win in his opening qualifying match. Broady, won 3-6 7-6 (7-3) 6-1 against America’s Murphy Cassone. He reached the third round of Wimbledon this year.

Alex Iwobi has been named Man of the Match in Everton’s win against Fleetwood Town. Iwobi was announced as Everton’s most outstanding player on the Club’s Twitter handle. Everton won the game 1-0, with Iwobi’s decisive goal. It was Everton’s first win in four games across all competitions this season.

Buhari stated this when he received the 10-year Football Development Master Plan submitted by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, on Tuesday in Abuja According to Buhari, his regime will resist any attempt to undermine its development. The President urged Stakeholders to work together constructively and patriotically.

Newcastle United winger, Allan Saint-Maximin is reportedly set for a shock move to Premier League rivals, Manchester United. According to reports, Manchester United is gambling on Saint-Maximin to sign him before the summer transfer window shuts in September.

Alexander Zverev has withdrawn from the US Open as he continues to recover from torn ankle ligaments during his French Open semi-final. Zverev, was not expected to be able to play after needing surgery in early June. The 2020 US Open runner-up officially pulled out of the event on Monday.

Ex-Footballer,Andriy Shevchenko was honored for his special service to Ukraine around six months into Russia’s invasion. Ukrainian President,Volodymyr Zelensky said Shevchenko received the order of national legends of Ukraine for using his fame to help the country. The ex-Footballer has played as a striker for Dynamo Kyiv, AC Milan, Chelsea and Ukraine’s National Football Team.

Nigeria bowed out of the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup after a 2-0 loss to The Netherlands. The Falconets could not reenact earlier round performances, which saw them winning all three group phase matches. The Netherlands will meet Spain on Thursday in the first semi-final fixture.
