Tyson Fury has urged Anthony Joshua to sign a contract for a heavyweight world-title fight in December. Fury had given Joshua, an ultimatum to sign by Monday, noting that he has extended the deadline to Thursday. Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn says he is baffled by Fury's latest demands, noting that Fury has been setting unrealistic deadlines.
British number one Cameron Norrie beat Japan's Kaichi Uchida to reach the quarter-finals of the Korea Open. Norrie broke two of his opponent's service games in each set to progress in one hour and three minutes. The Briton, who is seeded two at the tournament, will face either Korean number one, Kwon Soon-woo, or American Jenson Brooksby.

Report says Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, will decide his future after the 2022 World Cup. The 35-year-old has so far had no concrete offers from any club. Messi signed a two-year contract when he joined PSG from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. There has been little talk of an extension so far with the contract set to expire at the end of this season.
Former Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has announced his retirement from professional football after 20 years. Obi disclosed his retirement on Tuesday on his social media page. He retired at the age of 35 with laurels won for both clubs and country, including Nations Cup, Champions League, among others.

Watford has named Slaven Bilic as their new boss on an 18-month deal. Bilic had been out of management since leaving Chinese club Beijing Guoan. His contract was cancelled by mutual consent in January, after a year in charge, because he wanted to return to his family in Europe. This comes after Watford sacked Rob Edwards just 11 games into his tenure.
