Cameron Norrie returned to action with victory over Russia's Aslan Karatsev in the last 16 of the Stockholm Open. Norrie  pulled out of the Korea Open last month through illness and had to come from a set down before winning 6-7 (8-10) 6-3 6-6-4.6. He is battling to qualify for the season-ending ATP Finals.    

Manchester United's Mason Greenwood has been released on bail after being charged with attempted rape. A spokesman for the court confirmed bail had been granted with conditions not to contact witnesses, and to reside at an address in Bowdon. Greenwood was also charged with assault and repeatedly engaging in controlling and coercive behavior. The Women's Champions League will be added to the latest Fifa 23 game early next year as part of a new multi-year sponsorship deal. Chelsea forward Sam Kerr is on the latest cover of Fifa 23 alongside France World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe. In July, the Women's Super League and France's Division 1 Feminine became the first professional female leagues introduced to the game.

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has won the Ballon d'Or award for the first time. Benzema scored 44 goals in 46 games as he helped Real win the Champions League and La Liga in 2021-22. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had won the award on 12 of the previous 13 occasions.

Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood has appeared in court charged with attempted rape. Proceedings were adjourned by District Judge, Mark Hadfield, who said a decision would be made on the footballer's bail arrangements later. Greenwood is also charged with assault and repeatedly engaging in controlling and coercive behavior. He was arrested in January amid allegations surrounding images and videos that emerged online.

Barcelona will celebrate Drake becoming the first artist to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify by wearing a special shirt against Real Madrid on Sunday. The La Liga giants are sponsored by Spotify but will replace the streaming service's logo with the OVO owl logo of the Canadian rapper for El Clasico. It is part of Barcelona and Spotify's strategic aim to bring football and music together.
