The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has disqualified two of its 17 presidential aspirants. Chairman of the Screening Committee, David Mark, disclosed this after the conclusion of the exercise at the presidential campaign headquarters of the party in Abuja. Mark, who did not reveal the identities of the disqualified aspirants or the reasons for their disqualification, noted that the aspirants did not meet the requirements set by the panel.

Sanwo-Olu is seeking another four years in office that will expire in 2027. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has advised Political Appointees seeking elective positions to resign. Gbajabiamila who made the call while speaking to newsmen noted that their elections might be annulled if they refused to do so. Court Remands 15 PDP Members in Correctional Centre

A magistrate court in Port Harcourt has remanded 15 members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over alleged disruption of screening at the Rivers State party secretariat. The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Amadi Nna, ordered that the suspects be remanded in the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre. Nna adjourned the matter to May 26, 2022, for bail consideration. The party members pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.
