INEC Caution Politicians Against Substitution of Candidate

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cautioned Politicians and Political Parties against substitution of Candidates. Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mike Igini, who gave the warning, advised Politicians to be cautious as such was not permitted under the 2022 Electoral Act as amended. Igini stressed that the only way one can be substituted according to the law is by withdrawal or death of the Flag bearer.

Delta Assembly Approve Okowa’s Loan Request

Delta State House of Assembly has approved N25 billion loan for the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa. According to the Assembly, the loan approval was granted by the Legislature to enable the State Executive invest in palm plantation. INEC Expresses Readiness to Conduct Governorship Election in Ekiti

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said it is ready to conduct a transparent Governorship election in Ekiti State. Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said the Commission would deploy the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, for the June 18 election.
