Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has said  zoning should be used to determine the leadership of the National Assembly. Umahi stated this after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja. He revealed that his party considers certain parameters to carry all regions along rather than allow everyone to jump into the race.

The Appeal Court has reserved judgment on the Osun State Governorship Appeal filled by Governor Ademola Adeleke. Delivering judgment, two out of the three-member panel of the tribunal held that the former governor of the state Gboyega Oyetola proved that there was over-voting in some of the polling units. Adeleke had on February 9th, appealed the judgment of the State Governorship Tribunal which nullified his election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has postponed the governorship and state house of assembly elections scheduled for March 11. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has issued Certificates of Return to winners of the February 25, 2023 Senatorial election. INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu made the presentation at the National Collation Centre, Abuja on Tuesday. The elected legislators include 98 out of 109 Senate, and 325 out of 360 House of Representatives seats.

The Supreme Court has affirmed Akanimo Udofia as the authentic governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has assured that its result-viewing portal is now up and running. Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, revealed this in an interview with newsmen on Sunday. Rotimi noted that the IReV portal would be deployed during the governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday.
