Afrobeats megastar Burna Boy has been nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards. His 6th album 'Love, Damini' shortlisted for the World Album prize. He was also nominated for the Global Song of the Year for 'Last Last' making it his second nomination. The nomination is Burna Boy's 3rd Grammy nomination for the World Album Category following 'African Giant' and 'Twice As Tall' nominated in 2020 and 2021 respectively.

Lewis Capaldi's aching ballad ‘Someone You Loved’ has overtaking Ed Sheeran's ‘Shape of You’, to become UK's most-streamed song of all time. The song has been played 562 million times, counting both audio and video streams. Capaldi celebrated the news by calling himself the king of streaming, saying Sheeran is like a brother to him.

Country music star and philanthropist Dolly Parton has been awarded a $100m prize by Jeff Bezos. Bezos announced the award alongside his partner, Lauren Sanchez. Sanchez described Parton as a woman who gives with her heart and leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work.

American rapper, Curtis Jackson III, popularly known as 50 Cent, is developing a television series about a con artist, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi. 50 cent shared the news on his Instagram page with a photo of Hushpuppi. Prior to the rapper’s news, Universal Pictures, Will Packer Productions, and Mo Abudu's EbonyLife acquired the rights to the Bloomberg article about Hushpuppi in 2021.   This move got mostly negative reactions from Nigerians.

Nigerian megastar Davido's 'Are We Africans Yet' Atlanta festival has been postponed till November 2023. His management announced the postponement in a statement issued to newsmen. According the statement, the postponement comes in light of the recent family tragedy. It added that in light of the recent painful loss, the festival has been pushed back by 12 months as it is now set to hold on November 18th, 2023.

Senegal has accepted to host the 8th edition of All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA. The host country unveiling held at a joint world media conference in Dakar. Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has led tributes after the death of his younger brother and fellow star Aaron. Nick said the pair had a complicated relationship but his love had never ever faded for him. His band also dedicated a song to the younger Carter during a concert in London on Sunday evening.

Singer and rapper Aaron Carter has died at the age of 34. Representatives of Carter’s team revealed that he was found dead in his bath at his home in Lancaster, California, on Saturday morning. The singer started his career opening for the boy band Backstreet Boys on a number of tours and concerts, and also had a successful solo career.
