Imo state government has activated mechanisms to end illegal refining in oil-bearing communities in the state. The state Commissioner for Petroleum Resources, Goodluck Opiah, stressed that illegal oil business was affecting the economy of the state. Opiah added that the state government has ordered a clampdown on all illegal refineries in the state.
Lagos State Government has revealed that it only approved May 2nd and 3rd as public holidays to celebrate the 2022 International Workers’ Day and the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has charged members of the Southern Governors’ Wives’ Forum, SGWF, to support efforts to end all forms of Gender-Based Violence. Obaseki, gave the charge when he received the guests at the Government House, in Benin City. The Governor assured that his government will continue to support and protect young boys and girls against sexual-based violence.

Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a six-man gang that specializes in vandalisation of railway lines. Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi has purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination form of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Spokesman to the Governor, Francis Nwaze, claimed that Umahi is more capable than other Presidential Aspirants. He urged Nigerians to ensure that the Governor gets the APC ticket.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has declared his intention to run for a second term as governor of the state. Abiodun made the announcement on Thursday at the Government House in Abeokuta, the state capital. The Governor also announced that his Deputy, Noimot Oyedele, remains his running mate in the contest.
Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has handed over a defunct State College of Education, Ekiadolor, to the Federal Government. Obaseki who handed the Institution to the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, reassured his administration’s sustained investment in technical and vocational education in the state. The Governor urged the Federal government to rename the citadel of learning after a former Commissioner for Education in old Bendel State, Tayo Akpata.
