Kano State Police Command has arrested two fake soldiers over alleged extortion from individuals within the Sabon Gari Area of the State. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa. The statement revealed that the Command received an intelligence report that led to their arrest. It added that the suspect confessed to the crime and would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has won the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senatorial Primary election for Ebonyi South. Umahi’sbrother, Austin Umahi, was declared the winner of the Senatorial primary election for Ebonyi South, but the APC cancelled the earlier Primary election and rescheduled it for Thursday night. The Governor clinched the ticket in the rescheduled Primary election, held at the Afikpo North Local Government Council.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has said he would call an expanded Security Council Meeting which would include Traditional Rulers. Makinde noted that the meeting is to enable the State government strategize on how to prevent attacks on communities in the State. The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of Nigerian Labour Congress, Beatrice Itubo emerged the Governorship Candidate of the Labor Party. Itubo was declared winner of the primaries after pulling 201 votes out of the 272 delegate votes. The Governorship Candidate called on residents of the State to secure their Permanent Voters’ Cards in order to vote out bad Leaders.
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has reappointed Chukwuemeka Woke has his Chief of Staff. Woke’s reappointment was announced in a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Kelvin Ebiri. Recall that the Governor relieved Woke of his appointment as Chief of Staff when he dissolved the State Executive Council.
Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has given reasons for sacking 1,000 Teachers in the State. Soludo made the clarification in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Chris Aburime. The statement revealed that the teachers were relieved of their appointments because they were employed in an unclear manner. The Governor stated that the termination of the appointments was in line with his administration’s effort towards repositioning the education sector.
Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has offered bursary to 165 State Students in different campuses of the Nigeria Law School across the Country. Confirming the disbursement of the bursary, the Executive Secretary, State Scholarship Board, Uche Abonyi, disclosed that each of the beneficiaries received the sum of N100,000 from the State government. Abonyi, however, urged the Students to be good ambassadors of the State.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has hailed the former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu on his emergence as the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress. Uzodimma called on other Presidential Aspirants to unite and work hard towards Tinubu’s victory in forthcoming general elections. The Governor, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the smooth conduct of the Party’s Primary election.
Following the surge in the registration of Permanent Voter Card, PVC, some new registrants at Owerri Municipal Council, have highlighted the challenges they face. Speaking with Boss Radio monitoring team, Ikechukwu Chimeze, a business man, urges the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to reduce the crowd.
