Traders in the popular Ekeonuwa market in Owerri, Imo State, have continued to groan over the naira crunch plaguing the country. Speaking with Boss Radio Rural Assessment Team, a trader Bright Chiemela, says patronage has reduced since the scarcity. For Theophilus Njoku, a thrift seller, the glitches with electronic banking is aggravating the crunch. A shop attendant, Clara Ike, appeals to authorities to make the notes available to citizens.

Reports say security operatives apprehended a vehicle allegedly in possession of illegal crude oil. Some of the residents of the area who witnessed the incident share their side of the story. According to other residents who spoke off record, said the operatives who were in chase with Hilux vehicles after waiting for one hour set fire to the sienna and left after it burnt beyond repair.
