The Federal Government has disbursed N24.78bn under the National Cash Transfer programme to 991,261 poor households as part of efforts to alleviate poverty in Nigeria. The first lady of Akwa Ibom state, Patience Umo Eno has died. The state Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, made the announcement of the first lady’s death in a statement issued on Friday (today). Ememobong said the first lady died on Thursday in a hospital in the presence of her family.
