As the 2024/2025 academic session has kicked off, secondary school students in Imo State has expressed their displeasures on the way the Imo state Ministry of Education and Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB) has neglected the students who registered for the 2023/2024 Basic Education Secondary Certificate exams otherwise known as Junior WAEC.

Some of the students who spoke to our news crew, frowned at the development, having registered for the examination since May, 2024.

Ijemba Vera and Success Nnamdi blamed the state government for not failure to conduct the exams as at when due, describing it a huge disappointment to them as students who would now be forced to carry extra workload just to sit for the exams after they have moved over to senior secondary.

Meanwhile, two other students, Ogu Harmony and Blessing, described it as heartbreaking, lamenting that majority of the students might have forgotten all what they read or lost their notes, especially those who has changed to another school other than where they made their registrations.

The students pleaded with Imo state government and the commissioner for education to make things right so that they can meet up with students from other states of the federation.
