CBN ORDERS RELEASE OF N3.5BN REBATE TO EXPORTERS

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has ordered the immediate release of N3.5bn rebate to 150 exporters who participated in the Race To $200bn scheme. This was one of the outcomes of the Bankers’ Committee meeting held on Thursday. The apex bank had in February revealed that it would pay exporters N65 for every $1 sold into the economy through the Investors &Exporters window.

Senate constitutes committee to investigate oil theft

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has constituted a 13-member Ad-hoc Committee to investigate oil theft and its effect on petroleum production and oil revenues. Lawan, who announced the composition of the panel at plenary, named Bassey Akpan as Chairman of the Committee. The Senate President gave the committee one month to conclude work on investigations and report back to the chamber in plenary.

Ekiti police announces date for recruitment exercise

Ekiti State Police Command has announced that indigenes who participated in the 2021 police recruitment physical screening will write a Computer-Based Test, CBT, on April 20. The state Police spokesman, Sunday Abutu, stated that the Afe Babalola University CBT Centre in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, would be used for the exercise. Abutu advised applicants to check their recruitment status using their National Identification Number, NIN.
