NERC Discloses Distribution Companies for Tariff Increment

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has disclosed that the 11 electricity distribution companies (DisCos) have applied for tariff increments.

This was revealed in a notice posted on the commission website on Friday.

NERC, in the notice, called on stakeholders, Nigerians, to comment on the rate review applications by the DisCos.

Meanwhile ,NERC said the tariff review is coming on the heels of the need to reflect the macroeconomic parameters and other factors affecting the quality of service, operations and sustainability of DisCos, therefore inviting the general public for comments on the rate review applications by the distribution licensees.

Recall that there have been indications of a possible electricity tariff hike.
