Israeli military confirms operations in Rafah

The Israeli army says its forces in central Rafah have uncovered and dismantled Hamas military assets, including rocket launchers and tunnels
According to Mahmoud Basal, Defence spokesman, says Israel’s 20-day operation in Jabalia has destroyed much of the refugee camp, including more than 1,000 homes.
UN experts calls for sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel due to the humanitarian impact of the operations.
The US Department of State described the attack on Rafah as not a major operation despite significant military presence and casualties,and large number of Palestinian casualties, injuries and displacement with specific mention of pregnant women in dir conditions.
At least 36,284 killed and 82,057 wounded since October 7. At least 1,139 killed by Hamas attacks with ongoing hostage situations.

NLC declares indefinite strike.

Members of the organised labour, on Friday, declared a nationwide indefinite strike over the Federal Government`s refusal to raise the proposed minimum wage from N60,000. The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, disclosed this at an ongoing press conference in Labour House, Abuja. Ajaero said the strike would begin by midnight on Sunday, June 2, 2024.
