Nigerian Navy hands over 193 bags of Indian hemp seized from Ghanaian to NDLEA.

The Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS BEECROFT, has handed over 193 bags of seized Indian Hemp to the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
Rafiu Oladejo, Commander NNS BEECROFT revealed that the bags, weighing 38kg each, were seized from a 24-year-old Ghanaian, Emmanuel Asamani, off the Badagry Coast on March 16.
Asamani claimed ignorance of the drugs’ destination, leaving the NDLEA to unravel the details during their investigation.
Commander Oladejo highlighted the health risks and criminal activities associated with narcotics, emphasizing the need to combat drug use.
Meanwhile, Paul Ahom from the NDLEA Marine Command praised NNS BEECROFT for their efforts in policing crime and drug trafficking in Nigerian waters.
The collaboration between the Navy and NDLEA aims to expose the drug syndicate behind the trafficking of narcotics from Ghana and Togo through the Republic of Benin into Nigeria.
