Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a half-day holiday for workers in the state.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Taiwo Adisa, revealed that workers were expected to close at 12pm, on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s elections.

The statement added that only those handling essential duties are expected to remain at their duty posts.

It noted that the action became imperative to allow civil and public servants in the state, who might wish to travel, to vote in the March 18 governorship and House of Assembly elections, to do so.
