NLC and Maritime Workers Union to Embark on Strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria have threatened to embark on strike in two weeks’ time over the refusal of the Federal Government to pay sea farers their entitlements.

NLC President, Joe Ajaero, urged the leadership of the union to issue a two-week challenge to the federal government over the international oil companies’ refusal to obey government’s Marine Notice.

Federal High Court to Observe Easter break

The Federal High Court will, on March 31, commence its Easter vacation. A statement signed by the Court’s Assistant Director of Information, Catherine Oby-Christopher, said the vacation would last till April 17. The statement added that the court would resume sitting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, noting that the Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt judicial divisions will remain open to the public only for cases of extreme urgency.
