The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has revealed that the naira notes scarcity may disrupt the general elections.
INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, made this known during a meeting with the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele at the CBN headquarters, Abuja.
Yakubu explained that many service providers to INEC had no bank accounts, noting that service providers needed to be paid fully or partly.
The Chairman urged the apex bank to address the concern related to the cash withdrawal policy which had caused chaos across the country.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, has apologized to Nigerians over the fuel scarcity experienced nationwide. NNPC boss Mele Kyari, revealed that market forces will determine how quickly the situation is resolved. Kyari assured that the NNPC will bring succor and relief to Nigerians, adding that no one orchestrated the fuel scarcity. The NNPC Boss expressed confidence that the relief will be felt within the next one week.
