Court Set Aside Committal Order Against the IGP

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has commended the Federal High Court in Abuja, for setting aside a committal order against him.

A statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noted that previous IGPs had complied with the order in line with the statutory authority of the office of the IGP.

The statement reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force under his watch will uphold and respect the rule of law and ensure the continuous protection of the fundamental rights of all persons.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja set aside the contempt proceedings and committal order against the office of the IGP.
