Federal Government Extends Resumption Date for Abuja-Kaduna Rail Service

The Federal Government has extended the earlier announced resumption date for the Abuja-Kaduna rail services.

Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, announced this during an inspection tour to assess the readiness of the rail service.

Sambo, who did not give a date for the resumption of the Abuja-Kaduna rail services, revealed that its resumption would not be more than a week.

The Minister added that he federal government has introduced a new system of purchasing tickets, which is the beginning of security checks that will enable the government ascertain who boards the train at every point in time.

The federal government had last week stated that the Abuja-Kaduna rail services will resume operations on Monday, 28th November, 2022.
