Umahi Bans Use of School Premises for Political Rallies

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has banned the use of school premises and market places for political rallies.

Umahi announced the ban while addressing stakeholders and non-governmental organizations during the 2023 budget estimate and citizen’s inputs, in Abakaliki the State capital.

He stated schools and markets were used for heavy open defecation during rallies by politicians, hence the ban.

The governor directed that all political parties must write an application to the commissioner for education, applying to be allowed to use school premises and marketplaces for campaigns.
