Federal Government to Partner Foreign Security to Tackle Insecurity

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has said Nigeria is working with foreign partners to achieve greater synergy to tackle insecurity.

Onyeama, made this known in a meeting with the National Security Adviser, and other security agencies.

He noted that efforts were ongoing to neutralize security threats.

The Minister added that there is a foreign dimension to the security issue as alerts were obviously issued by foreign countries with missions here in Nigeria.

FCTA Assured Abuja Residents of Safety

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has assured Abuja residents of safety. A statement issued by the Director of Information, Muhammad Sule, appealed to residents to remain calm, encouraging them to install Close-Circuit Television, CCTV. The statement warned citizens to avoid public places in the nation’s capital, adding that law enforcement agencies had upscale surveillance through their personnel to ward off any security breach.
