Court Adjourns Suit Seeking to Declare Ekweremadu’s Seat Vacant

A Federal High Court in Enugu State has adjourned hearing of a suit seeking to sack the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu from the Senate.

Delivering Judgment, the presiding judge, Umar Garba, adjourned the matter to November 9, 2022 for motion for regularization and possible hearing.

In the suit between Ogochukwu Onyema vs Ahmed Lawan, INEC and the PDP, the applicant dragged Ekweremadu to court, seeking a declaration of his Senate seat vacant.

The former deputy Senate President and his wife, Beatrice, are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange the travel of another person with a view to exploit.
