NLC Urges FG to Release Withheld Salaries of ASUU

The Nigeria Labour Congress has called on the Federal Government to release the withheld salaries of members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

The union made this known in a communiqué at the National Executive Council meeting held in Birnin-Kebbi, Kebbi State capital on Tuesday.

According to the communiqué, the union called for the release of withheld salary owed university workers and rejected the no work no pay policy of government.

It further resolved to defend trade union independence as guaranteed by the clear provisions of labour laws.
