Buhari Makes New Appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari has  appointed a new Managing Director for the Niger Delta Development Commission, Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, the appointment is in acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive managing director.

Recall that President Buhari sacked the interim administrator of the board, Effiong Akwa, on Thursday.

IGP Decorates Newly Promoted Officers

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has decorated 56 newly-promoted Senior Police Officers. Baba who was represented by the Deputy Inspector General, Sanusi Lemu, disclosed that a total of 465 officers were promoted to various ranks. Lemu stressed that promotion is a critical administrative instrument for elevating and repositioning competent personnel towards the attainment of critical internal security mandate.
