Police Seizes 123 Oil Vessels

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has revealed that the police’s Special Task Force on Petroleum and Illegal Bunkering has confiscated 123 oil vessels.

A statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the force is prosecuting 52 of such cases nationwide.

The statement noted that samples of the products have been collected for laboratory analysis, while the suspects will be charged to court after investigations for effective prosecution in line with extant laws.

It reiterated the IGP’s commitment to continuously improve the capacity of its officers through training and acquiring top-notch investigative and operational assets.
