The European Union, EU, has warned politicians against interfering in the activities of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Head of the EU delegation to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi, gave the warning at the official closure of the EU Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria on Monday in Abuja.

Isopi charged politicians to be guided against hate speech and any form of behavior that may have negative effects on the outcome of the 2023 elections.

She, however, added that the Union would continue to share Nigeria’s interest to see a solid process that will lead to peaceful, free, fair and credible elections.
