The Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, has urged government at all level to employ more teachers in primary and secondary schools.

National President of the union, Audu Amba, gave the advice at the NUT state secretariat in Calabar, Cross Rivers State capital.

Amba noted that many state governments were not recruiting adequate teachers to match the number of those retiring.

The President added that there is no commensurate recruitment or replacement for teachers who have retired.
