Measles Outbreak in Rivers Claim Lives

Reports say at least 50 children are feared dead following a measles outbreak in Kugbo Clan of Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Confirming the incident, Community Development Committee Chairman of Emago Kugbo Community, Levi Marcus, said they have tried their best to reach the state government, but no response yet.

Also speaking, the Youth Leader of Emago-Kugbo community, Edoghotu Edwin, appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the communities.

The disease which was first reported in Amurouttoru-Kugbo Community has now spread to Emago-Kugbo and Akani-Kugbo communities leading to the death of several children in the three communities.
