Ghana Records Another Marburg Virus Death

The World Health Organization, WHO, has announced that a child who contracted the Marburg virus in Ghana has died.

WHO Doctor, Ibrahima Fall said the death brings the total number of fatalities in the Country to three.

Fall noted that the country’s health ministry has reported three confirmed cases and further testing will be done on a fourth suspected case.

The outbreak is only the second in West Africa, after the first was detected last year in Guinea.

INEC Gives Reason for Closure of Voters Registration

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has revealed that extending the Continuous Voters Registration, CVR, would frustrate other scheduled activities towards the conduct of the 2023 general elections. INEC National Commissioner for Information and Voters Education, Festus Okoye, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja. Recall that there has been agitation for an extension of the deadline for the CVR after it ended on Sunday.
