The House of Representatives has called on the National Identity Management Commission to redesign the national identity card.

The call followed a motion of public importance moved by a member of the House, Fredrick Agbedi, at plenary on Wednesday in Abuja.

Agbedi noted that the NIN which is issued by the NIMC to manage Nigerians identity ought to have the National Identity Number of the bearer written on it.

The lawmakers urged the NIMC to further redesign the national identity cards to reflect the NIN.
