Edo State government has revealed that eight persons tested positive for monkey pox in the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Akoria Obehi, said the ministry has ramped up surveillance and other activities to curb the spread of infectious diseases.
Obehi urged residents to observe safety measures to reduce the spread of the virus and other infectious diseases.
The commissioner noted that all those who were diagnosed with the disease have recovered.
Paulie Cicero in the 1990 mobster classic Goodfellas, has died at age 83. His publicist, Roger Neal, said he died of natural causes at his home in Indiana. The Tony Award nominated actor was best known for his portrayals of policemen and gangsters.
