Sri Lanka Swears in New Prime Minister

Sri Lanka has sworn-in Dinesh Gunawardena as the Country’s new Prime Minister.

Gunawardena, an ally of the Rajapaksa Political family, took the oath of office on Friday.

This comes just hours after Soldiers and Police cleared an anti-government protest site in Colombo.

Buhari Receives Investigative Report on Prison Attack

President Muhammadu Buhari has received a preliminary report of the investigation into Kuje jailbreak. The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola made this known to newsmen after the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Aregbesola revealed that Officials whose action made the assault successful have been identified. The Islamic State’s West Africa Province claimed responsibility and released footage of the attack.
