Ecuador’s President Survives Impeachment Vote

Ecuador’s President, Guillermo Lasso has survived an attempt by opposition lawmakers to remove him from office.

According to results read by the Parliament’s Secretary, Alvaro Salazar, the motion garnered only 80 of the 92 votes needed.

The opposition-led congress had sought to remove right-wing Lasso over Political crisis and internal commotion caused by protesters.
