Supreme Court Dismisses Suit Challenging Section 84 of Electoral act 2022

The Supreme Court has dismissed a suit filed against the National Assembly challenging the legality of section 84 (12) of the Electoral Act 2022.

In his ruling, the Presiding Judge, Emmanuel Agim held that President Muhammadu Buhari, has no power to challenge the legality of the Electoral Act.

Justice Agim, however, noted that the action of the President in instituting the case was declared as gross abuse of Court.

Okowa Gives Reason for Accepting Vice Presidential Nomination

Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has given reasons for accepting to be a running mate to the Presidential flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar. Okowa, revealed that it would have been a disservice on his part to have turned down the Vice President nomination. The Governor, however, stressed that he is an Igbo man, adding that with time, an Igbo man would become the President of Nigeria.
