NSCDC Deploys Personnel to Ekiti Ahead of Elections

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has said it would deploy 9,747 personnel to provide security for Ekiti State governorship election.

NSCDC Acting Deputy Commandant-General of Operations, Lawal Haruna, disclosed this to personnel at the Corps headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Haruna stated that information regarding violence-prone areas have been shared with other security agencies involved in the election.

The Deputy Commandant added that 160 armed female squad would be deployed to ensure resistance of any form of violence, intimidation and abuse against women involved in the political process.
