College of Education embarks on strike

The Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, have embarked on one-month strike, effective Tuesday 14th of June.

This was disclosed in a communiqué jointly signed by COEASU President, Smart Olugbeko and General Secretary, Ahmed Lawan.

According to the communiqué, the Union made the decision after a meeting at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, Delta State.

The communiqué noted that the Union assessed the level of federal government’s response to its requests, following the expiration of the 21-day ultimatum issued on the lingering matters of industrial concerns.

Abiodun hails Monarchs over fight against cultism

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has commended Traditional Rulers in the State for their active participation in curtailing the increasing rate of cultism in the State. Abiodun gave the commendation while speaking at the Thanksgiving Service of the 20th Coronation Anniversary of Oba Adewale Osiberu in Sagamu area of the State. The Governor assured the Monarchs of his administration’s support to partner with them towards providing security in the State.
