Lagos Government Assure Residents of Food Safety

Lagos State Government has assured citizens that it would continue to ensure food safety and reduce the incidences of food contamination in the State.

Director-General, State Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola, gave the assurance during an event to commemorate the 2022 World Food Safety Day in Ikeja, the State Capital.

Mojola stated that the International Day is an opportunity to strengthen efforts to mainstream food safety in the public agenda and reduce the burden of food borne diseases globally.

The DG stressed that unsafe food is a threat to human health.

Train derailment claim 17 lives in Iran

17 people have died and 50 injured after a passenger train derailed in eastern Iran. According to reports, the disaster which occurred on Wednesday had 350 passengers on board. The report noted that the number of casualties could rise, adding that those injured have been transferred to the hospitals.
