Court nullifies PDP rescheduled primary in Abakiliki

A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki has nullified the Governorship Primary election of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, which produced Obinna Ogba as the Candidate of the Party.
In his ruling, the presiding Judge, Fauten Riman held that the primary election which produced Ogba as the Candidate did not meet the new electoral law and the guidelines of the Party and therefore, declared it illegal and unlawful.
Justice Riman, however, upheld the first Governorship primary held on 28 and 29th May 2022, where Chukwuma Odii emerged as the Candidate of the Party in the State.
Recall that the first primary election that produced Odii was cancelled by the National Working Committee of the Party
