Lagos State Government will today commence an enforcement of its ban on commercial motorcycles, known as Okada, in six Local Governments Area of the State.
According to the State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, recent increases in accident rates prompted the government to place the ban.
The local governments include Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa,
Recall that the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had announced the ban on May 18 during a meeting with Police Chiefs in the State.
