The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has said that over 45 per cent of the total numbers of registered voters have been found to be invalid.
The chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, made this disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja.
Mahmood also raised fears about security challenges on the election.
The commission maintained that 1,390,519 Permanent Voter Cards are valid, adding that it would continue to clean up the voters’ register.
Nigeria’s Statistician-General Simon Harry has died. Accoding to the report Harry died on Wednesday in Abuja, the nation’s capital. He joined the Federal Office of Statistics as Statistician 11 in 1992 and became the substantive Director of Statistics in 2019. Harry contributed to reform initiatives including the transformation of the then Federal Office of Statistics to the NBS.
